The Poor Little Rich Girl 1917

This film is a drama comedy from 1917 that was shot on location in New Jersey. The story was based on a play from 1913 called Frances Marion made by Eleanor Gates. This film was also selected for preservation during 1991 for being historically significant by the library of congress.

This poor girl's family is rich only her parents ignore her and all of the servants push her around causing her to be very unhappy and lonely. Her father is busy making money and her mother is more concerned with social position to notice her. Then one day a servants irresponsiblity causes everyone to realize what is really important to them.

The Navigator 1924

This film is a comedy from 1924 which features Buster Keaton as a starring actor as well as the director of the film.

Two rich people end up trapped on a ship with no passangers.

The General 1926

This film is a silent comedy from 1926 featuring the actor buster keaton and was inspired by the great locomotive chase that happened in 1862.


Union spies steal the engineers train he purses it right into enemy lines trying to get his precious locomotive back at all costs.

The Circus 1928

This film is a silent comedy film that stars Charlie Chaplin and also is directed by him along with Joseph Plunkett who was an uncredited writer. You can find film stars such as Harry Crocker, Merna Kennedy, George Davis, Al Ernest Garcia and of course Charlie Chaplin himself. The movie had a few delays during creation due to a stage fire and the divorce of Chaplins second wife along with the death of his mother.

The Cameraman 1928

This film is a slient comedy from 1928 that stars actors like Harold Goodwin, Marceline Day and Buster Keaton. Buster Keaton also had a part on helping direct the movie only he wasn't credited and only Edward Sedgwick was. The orignal prints of the movie went missing and where considered lost until 1968 when a new print of the full film was found in Paris with much better quality. It was missing some footage which was recovered in 1991.

This film is a short comedy from 1922 which stars the actor Buster Keaton. By accident an intimidating women and Keaton end up getting married.

This film is a short comedy from 1919 that features the actor Harold Lloyd. It takes place on a steamship with a newly married couple and the adventures they go though.

The Great Train Robbery 1903

This film is a short western from 1903 which is considered a milestone in film making because of the style of innovative techniques used such as camera movement, composite editing and also shooting on location. The film was one of the first of it's kind to introduce the use of cross cutting which two scenes appear to occur simultaneously but in different locations. Some of the prints of this movie have been hand colored in various scenes.

A group of bandits hold up a train only to find a posse hot on their heels.

Steamboat Bill Jr. 1928

This is a comedy silent film that features Buster Keaton. Steamboat Bill Jr. was the last of Keaton's team of independent productions. The movie actually was not a success and it was the last film that Keaton made for United Artists which caused him to move to MGM. The Movie name was based off of a popular Arthur Collins song called "Steamboat Bill".
Following a promise to his mother William Canning Jr. goes down to the River Junction to meet the father who he has not seen since he was young. His father isn't what he expected of him but he has bigger problems since he was put out of business by J.J. King a rich bank and hotel owner who owns a new steam boat that puts Canning's old boat to shame. His son and the daughter of J.J. King find love in between the fight between the fathers. A storm causes Bill Jr. to save kitty and his and her father.

The Phantom of the Opera 1925

This movie is a 1925 silent hoor film created from Gaston Leroux's The Phantom of the Opera novel from 1910. Lon Chaney, Sr. played the horrifying Phantom that haunts the Paris Opera House causing mayhem and murder trying to make the women he loves a star. Chaney had the freedom to make his own make-up for the Phantom and the self devised make-up for the movie was also kept secret until it premiered.

 

In Paris at the Opera house, a mysterious phantom threatens Carlotta a famous lyric singer forcing her to give up her role for the unknown singer Christine Daae. She meets this mysterious phantom in the catacombs of the Opera. What is he trying to achive? What secret is he hiding?

This is a french silent film short that was made during 1922 directed by Germaine Dulac. This film is considered to be one of the first feminist films which tells a story of a very intelligent women who is
stuck in a loveless marriage.

Charlie Chaplin: The Kid 1921

This film is directed and starred by Charlie Chaplin with Jackie Coogan as his sidekick and adopted son. This movie was the first movie directed by Charlie Chaplin that was full length. The film was a major success being the second highest money making film in 1921. The movie combines dramatic elements with comedy very well and is considered one of the greatest films in history and also has been added to the National Film Registry for preservation.


A mother of a young child is forced to leave her baby in the back seat of a limousine with a note. Meanwhile thieves steal the limo then when they find the baby abandon it in an alleyway trash can. Chaplin on a morning stroll stumbles apon the child and tries to put the baby in another carriage then decides to keep the baby for himself.

Birth of a Nation 1915

This film is a slightly controversial film because of the way it portrays African-American men which are played by white actors using black makeup and makes them seem unintelligent and sexually aggressive to the white women. It also portrays the Ku Klux Klan as a heroic force. There was protesting against the movie Birth of a Nation while many white people still continued to go to see the film. But even though the controversy of this film the film techniques involved in its creation are still considered important and influential for commercial films in the industry. This film was used by the Ku Klux Klan in an attempt to recruit people. But it was also deemed historically significant and was selected by the National Film Registry for preservation.


Two brothers visit friends in South Carolina only to have there friendship damaged by the Civil War and end up on opposite sides of the army. Major historical events such as the birth of the Ku Klux Klan, Lincoln's assassination and the Civil War itself.

Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans 1927 HD

This film often called Sunrise is a 1927 silent film made in america which was directed by the german film director F.W. Murnau. The story is based off a short story called A Trip to Tilsit created by Hermann Sudermann. This movie was awarded an academy reward for unique and artistic protection during the first Academy Award ceremony in 1929 then later was chosen to be in the National Film Registry for the US Library of Congress as a historical significant film. The orignal print of the movie was destroyed in a fire during the 1930's but a new negative was later recreated from a surviving print of the movie.


A farmer falls in love with a beautiful women from the city who tries to convince him to kill his wife!
