This film often called Sunrise is a 1927 silent film made in america which was directed by the german film director F.W. Murnau. The story is based off a short story called A Trip to Tilsit created by Hermann Sudermann. This movie was awarded an academy reward for unique and artistic protection during the first Academy Award ceremony in 1929 then later was chosen to be in the National Film Registry for the US Library of Congress as a historical significant film. The orignal print of the movie was destroyed in a fire during the 1930's but a new negative was later recreated from a surviving print of the movie.
